Malta from a Japanese perspective

Malta Traffic Information (Tourist Bus)

f:id:Maltalover:20200510230319j:plainHop On Hop Off Bus is easy for sightseeing 🚌🚌🚌

I went to a large-scale travel event called Tourism EXPO Japan and visited the booth of Malta Tourism Board. After that, I got information about the hop-on hop-off bus from staff at the Malta Tourism Authority. I used it for my first visit to Malta and for guiding my friends and family who visited Malta for the first time. I've been riding it 5 or 6 more times.

[What is Hop On Hop Off Bus? ? ]

A double-decker bus that tours around Malta's sightseeing points, so you can get on and off for one day! Since it is a tour bus that only goes around sightseeing points, you can efficiently go around the island.
On the way from one stop to another, you can hear the guide for the next stop (sightseeing spot) on your earphones. You can get earphones from the bus driver when you get on the bus. Sometimes the audio is broken and there are some seats that I can not hear 💦
This tourist guide supports more than 10 languages, including Japanese 👏

[Usage is planned]

There are mainly three basic routes for Hop On Hop Off Bus.
There are routes to the north of Malta, to the south and to Gozo.
It's a small country, but with so many tourist attractions, it's very difficult to get around all the stops in a day. It's a good idea to plan ahead of where you'll get off before using!
There is a bus every 30 minutes. 30 minutes after getting off the bus, the next bus will come.
Please note that the bus only travels in one direction, so you cannot go back.

[Where to buy the ticket? ]

You can buy bus tickets at hotels, travel agencies, ferry platforms, Sliema and Saint Julian's anywhere in the city. Adults 20 € per day. It seems that VELTRA can be purchased in advance for 18 €. There are also cases where you can negotiate locally and buy at a cheaper price.

[Bus company]
There are two operating companies.
Malta Sight Seeing
② City Sightseeing Malta

The company name and bus design are very similar.
The bus stops are slightly different, but they stop at almost the same place.
Please be careful not to make a mistake!
I was mistakenly trying to get on, but the driver told me "NO!"

This company is entirely red. The southern route is red for both companies, so the presence or absence of a white line is a landmark.

[Other notes]
The bus is Wi-Fi free but don't expect too much 😅 I think that you should be lucky if you are connected.
In summer, the sun is very strong and very hot, so a hat (a clip or something with rubber is recommended), sunglasses, sunscreen, and water are essential items.
Even though it is sunny and calm in winter, there are many days when it is cold in the morning and evening, and there are many windy and cold days.
Please note that you will not be able to ride if you lose your ticket.
