My first life in Malta
The flat I lived in
I stayed in Malta for about 5 weeks last year. Language study abroad for 4 weeks, free time for 1 week 😀
While studying abroad, I lived in a flat borrowed by the school and shared a life with other international student. My only flatmate was a German woman in her mid-50s.
This time, I would like to introduce the flat where I lived. There were 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. In Japan, there are many flats with small living, dining and kitchen, so I thought the flat in Malta are wide.
In Japan, shoes are taken off when entering a room. Therefore, it is common to have a shoe box at the entrance. Malta has no shoe box at the entrance.
Spacious kitchen: What looks like a vertically long cabinet is a refrigerator, and behind the sink is a dishwasher. They were fully equipped with tableware and kitchen utensils, but I purchased seasonings, kitchen paper, sponges, and dishwashing detergent at a local supermarket.
Living dining It faces the balcony and is bright during the day.
I cooked in the kitchen every day and studied at the dining table at night and on holidays📖📚💻 This flat is of course equipped with Wi-Fi. There is a TV but no Japanese program😂
I saw this type of rice cooker for the first time ↑↑↑
I didn't know how to use it well, but I was able to cook rice normally👍
I brought Japanese rice from Japan, but you can buy rice similar to Japanese rice at your local supermarket.
I didn't have rice scoops, chopsticks and rice bowls to use when eating rice in Japan.
The balcony was large. I was smoking and drinking coffee here 🚬
I also had a relaxing time watching the autumn sky on the balcony. Occasionally, I greeted a person living in the opposite flats.
By the way, my flat was on the 4th floor (5th floor in Japan), and the room was on the top floor.
The bedroom looks like this. There was also a balcony on the bedroom side and a drum-type washing machine.
Sunrise seen from the balcony on the bedroom side
Sunset seen from the balcony on the bedroom side
Moon seen from the balcony on the bedroom side
Unfortunately the bathroom has no bathtub, only shower. For me, who likes bath time, I was disappointed that I couldn't use the bathtub for 4 weeks.
It was a flat managed by the school, so it was very comfortable to change bed sheets once a week and clean it twice a week.
As I wrote before, I wanted a screen door🙏
Next time, I will write about some unexpected events in Malta. Don't miss it😉
